Cut Down CAFFEINE Now!!

My dad is one of millions caffeine lover in the world. I knew that caffeine is not good for our healthy but I don't want to stop my dad doing things he like.
But, I really need to stop him after reading the info in SHAPEMalaysia.

According to the info, the results of a study from American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology suggest that consuming more than 200 mg of caffeine a day can set you up to decreased blood flow and constricted blood vessel.

Its not that you can't take it at all. You just need to control your obsession. A cup or two of caffeine-containing beverages such as coffee or soda is fine.
Even its fine but its much better to drink plain water and eat fruits after all. :)

Cheers for now.

Stay healthy!!

Works of Mercy for Victims of Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami

By Deacon Keith A. Fournier

Catholic Online (www.catholic.org)
Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me

'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.'

CHESAPEAKE, VA (Catholic Online) - One of the most sobering passages in the New Testament is found in the Gospel of St. Matthew. Jesus is addressing the Last Judgment: "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

"Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.' Then the righteous will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

"When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?' And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.' (Matthew 25: 31 - 40)

As we continue on our Lenten pilgrimage, world events have presented us with an opportunity to live what we pledged when we came forward on Ash Wednesday to receive those ashes. The devastating earthquake and tsunami which hit the people of Japan and affected some in Hawaii and beyond, presents us with a real and tangible invitation to a Lenten response of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

Our Catholic Faith calls us to live the "Corporal Works of Mercy". They are to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit those in prison and bury the dead. The Catechism of the Catholic Church expounds: "The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities. Instructing, advising, consoling, comforting are spiritual works of mercy, as are forgiving and bearing wrongs patiently. The corporal works of mercy consist especially in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead". (CCC #2247)

The teaching of Jesus is clear. He is identified with all who suffer. We must be as well. We invite our readers throughout the world to join with us in ongoing prayer, fasting and almsgiving for the afflicted and the grieving. We invite you to join with those who are giving to assist those who have suffered. We invite you to join with us in this Prayer:

Father,

We come to you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. We ask for your loving Mercy and kindness toward all who suffer as a result of the Earthquake, Tsunami and aftershocks which have devastated the people of Japan.

Lord, for those who lost their lives, and those who mourn them, we ask for your loving mercy.

Lord, for those who were wounded, we ask for healing and help.

Lord, for those reaching out to the wounded, give them the supernatural graces, and the practical and economic resources they need in their efforts.

Lord, for those who are searching for the dead, assist them in their effort so that all who lost their lives in this tragedy can be buried with dignity.

We also pray also for those who were affected by this horrible disaster in Hawaii and those who are ministering to their needs.

Father, may this natural disaster and true human tragedy become an invitation for your people to enter into the ongoing mission of reaching out to all of the poor and seeing in their face and in their need the face of your Son.

During this Lent, we say "Yes" to your invitation to practice the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. May this human tragedy become for your people an occasion of grace and invitation to love.

We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord

Amen

Be Promoted!

How will you get that PROMOTION?
Here's the issue :
You've been working for more than 2-3 years. Your boss never assigned any big task to you. Your colleague don't feel like their day is not complete without you. You. Still you. From the first day you report duty, up until now, no one sees you. No one notice you. Nil. Zilch.
You almost transparent to everyone in your office!

Here's some tips that I get from CLEO Magazine, January 2011 issue.

1 - Speak Up
Talk often to your boss. Find suitable time to approach your boss to tell him/her about your wish to be strides in your career. Your boss should be flattered when you ask him/her to become your mentor in order to achieve your goal ;)

2 - Think Big Picture
You have to think out of the box. Explore the world. Don't depend to your work to gain knowledge and experience. Do some research about your competitors. Learn as much as you can about ongoing issues that related to your work. You may SHOW OFF your knowledge to your boss and make him/her appreciate your interest ;)

3 - Network
Build up your connection with you colleagues. You'd be amazed for how much you learn from your colleague. No harm to make friends with people from other department as well ;)

4 - Don't Badmouth Colleagues
Act like a leader and everyone will treat you as one! Be positive. Even your colleague drive you nuts, you should shore up them. That is how you polish your leadership skill ;)

5 - Be Early
Punctuality. Turn up few minutes earlier or handing in report few minutes earlier is more than enough to show your boss that you think ahead, and that your plan is not smashed by unexpected obstacles such as jam or internet slowdown.

I'm practicing this now even I just started in my new job.
Hope it works on me. And I hope works on you too!
Definitely not for a short-term but for long-term goal ;)

Kisty

Landed Your First Job. Be Financial Free.

Yes. Everyone wants to be FINANCIALLY FREE. When you achieve this title, you can GET what you want, you can DO what you want, you can EAT what you want.
In other words, you are able to buy 4 pairs of Levi's jeans that you always dream of. You may go for a long vacation to Paris, Italy, or maybe New York with your loves one.
You may eat that expensive meal in Japanese/Italian/Germany restaurant.

How good is that?
How wonderful is that? :D

You just get your new job after graduation or maybe after being unemployed for a very long time. Contrary to popular belief, achieving financial success isn't all about luck and opportunities.

Let see how you gonna achieve a stable life in terms of financial after getting your first job ;)

Step 1 : PAY-YOURSELF-FIRST
When you get your income every the end of the month, deposit 10% of it to an account. An account not necessarily is a bank account. You can an envelope to put in your money but make sure you take a good care of it. This account will enable you to save a portion of your salary for a short or medium-term goal, such as buying your first car or maybe funding for your dream wedding. This can be your emergency fund as well.

Step 2 : UNIT TRUST
Deposit 10% to an investment account. Grow your money. Invest regularly. Be sure you choose the right investment product that suit your life situation and investment risk level that you are able to tolerate.

Step 3 : SPENDING
Remaining 80% is for your regular spending. Pay your room/house rent, your loan, your bills, shopping.. etc etc. But doesn't mean that you can spend as much as you like. Do save as much as you can. With a sensible spending, you will have extra money for your saving and investment!

Good luck!!

Spend Less, Save More, For A Better Life in Future!

Plan Wisely. Be Organized.

Planning? Yes, planning is important. Your boss ask you to do a bunch of work with a due date. Your lecturer/teacher give you homework/assignments/project and need to be done by the next two days. Your wedding is happening in two months time.
Panic? Because the due date is very soon. Stress? Don't know where to start? Which one to start first? Scared won't finish on time? Here, planning play the role to guide you and let you be organized.

Relax.
Take a deep breathe.
Everything gonna be fine in the end. :)

I'm gonna share with you my personal opinion about PLANNING.

Firstly, most important thing is PRIORITIZE your task.
For instance, Task A need to be done on Friday 5pm while Task B have to finish by 7pm on the same Friday. Task A difficulty is higher than Task B.

Question : Which task should I prioritize?

My suggestion : Task B

My reason : I will do Task B first because its easier than Task A. After I finished Task B I can concentrate on Task A. ;)

This is only my opinion. Still, it depends on the task itself, and of course depends to yourself. That is why you must have the prioritizing skill! ;)

Next, SCHEDULE your life.
For working people, its good for you to have an organizer. For students, a calendar is better or maybe a notebook. You can have organizer as well.
This is how this work..
Everytime you get a new task you must take note. Put in your organizer. Note in your calendar/notebook. So that you know what to do on particular date and time. Set time limit for each task if you have more than one task per day.

Punctuality! Yes. You should be PUNCTUAL.
You prioritized and scheduled. It's time for you to be PUNCTUAL at your time.
Follow your planning. Avoid doing last minute job. That will lead you to a great stress!
It's better if you done everything earlier than scheduled so you can focus on other thing.

Thats it!! Prioritize, Schedule, Punctual.

Hope this help!! :-)
